My drawings are an extension of my journal writing. Typically a quote or phrase that I have jotted down becomes my inspiration. Through matching the idea with an image, I clarify its personal significance. Illustrating memories and concepts gives me a clearer vision of who I am and how I got here.

I strive to balance my technical ability with an emotional rawness and honesty. Adding text clarifies and creates another layer of meaning with the image. Using pen or pencil showcases the expressive marks and emphasizes that black and white can create infinite shades of gray.
