Many of my pieces have surreal and metaphoric references. Some others are related to the human gesture. Edges are important to me. Their effects are to create texture and depth. Collage seems to me to offer a built-in metaphor for life through the process of creating a new whole from diparate pieces. Every piece has its own inherent history. All of my work has a time element to it. In addition, writings from varied cultural histories influence me. My work generates unanticipated insights; this is what drives me to do art.
