I treat my work as sculpture, but can not overcome that old fashioned New England mindset that things need to be useful. So when I am not making clay objects can be played with (musically speaking, that is) I make art objects that are intended for use. The imagery comes from my life…I Kayak on Long Island Sound with my trusty salty dog, I “get by with a little help from my friends”, and the “Cuppa' Soup” just had to become a teapot!
