I am a collector. I stockpile images from my environment. I begin by spending time in a given area, photographing and making thumbnail sketches. A laundry list develops: the route to the post office, gum, litter, shorelines. I examine some parts very closely and visually dissect sections of the land, a fly, a petal. The result of my experience is a series of small panel paintings in acrylic and gouache.
