The Ice World of the artic region is the antipode and not less deadly with temperatures below 60 C during winter. It can be equally beautiful in its purity. When snow has been under enormous pressure for quite some time it turns into clear ice that appears to emanate light in all shades of blue, from light turquoise to nearly black.
