ARTIST STATEMENT
My piece, ALL WOUND UP at WORK, strives to use the disciplines of Drawing and Photography toward a new genre: gallerists might call it: Tradigital- traditional art media and digitized.
The narrative of “…WOUND UP” suggests that work in isolation can offer a distraction from berating chatter of the mind that won’t shut up.
Work allows a conduit for internal voices to flow from the task process rather than loose from the subconscious. The process of making this piece put me into a peaceful inner conversation with “Catherine” who uses a tedious aspect of her job to do the same. One can say, Covid isolation canbe fun- long as its got irony.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a long term Interdisciplinary Artist raised in New York and Dallas TX, now living in Portland OR. My art, performance, and video productions have been shown nationally; my writing is published. WMG is my bff.
