Geometry and patterns interest me and how they are part of nature. In using repetition within the geometric shape of the painting there is a dynamic set up between the patterns, the outer edge of the piece and the environment in which the piece exists.

Rigorously working with these particular concerns, things begin to happen. Shapes, patterns and color, creating space within the rectangle, space within having a dialogue with the space within having a dialogue with the space around. I see such possibilities. Encaustic has phenomenal presence, beautiful color and seductive surface. It is very inspirational to discover new possibilities, and use this process as a way to explore and value the universe.
