Dorit Jordan Dotan – Curator
13 x 12 in.
Dotan has positioned a keen, eye-level look through the multi-layered symbol of mannikins – a visual motif that represents a sense of redundancy: what remains when the icon is no longer needed, no longer relevant or useful. The anthropomorphic models who stood for decades, in our own human images, displaying current yet ever-changing fashions, now stand naked, useless and left behind. Along with them, thousands of human employees have also been left behind, jobless, having been traded away and replaced by mega-companies of e-commerce, who now control the market.
