I am a multidisciplinary artist, though my focus is creating hand-built ceramics and figurative sculpture from clay. My work explores concepts of connection, time, place, and history, particularly concerning geologic processes and human interaction with the environment. I love the tactile nature of building the human form from clay, particularly the female form, thus have gone back to the beginning to recreate some of the paleolithic Venus figurines, as well as creating my own modern Venuses. My Venus on Horseback has more agency than the typical Venus figurine, which has no hands or feet. She gets around.

A devout anti-racist, I often use my work to explore, document, and expose race and social justice issues as well as the common bonds that connect us all.
