Hello World _
Installation, neon and electronic circuits; Dimensions variable

I use the exhibitionist quality of neon in my work. My ejaculatory neon bridges figures. They suggest neither shame nor gaze, but a sexual declaration of personal empowerment. Pornography’s influence in revolutionizing technology has inspired me to explore and integrate electronics in my own work, commenting on their symbiotic relationship.
“Hello World _” is a play on digital coding. Hand-bent by myself as well and on a completely analog circuit built by myself, it informs the first assignment students learn when taking a Processing, Arduino, Java, HTML, or terminal coding class. Physically, it looks very post- apocalyptic. The blinking cursor gives a feeling of anticipation.
