Pregnancy brought great changes to my life, which makes me feel intensely the existence of ‘womb’, which never happened before. ‘Womb’ not only indicates the uterus of mammalian, but also includes the egg and cocoon of insects, and the fruit of plants, even the native cultural background of human beings. Womb is self-contained and safe. So I made this series of works, which express this kind of female experience. In my works, ‘bottle’ as a symbol is used as a metaphor of ‘womb’, and materials like cotton and gauze are used to simulate the soft and warm feeling inside a womb.
