Lodgepole Pine
drypoint; 8.25 x 6.5 in.

My work is a representation of memories and experiences. I am constantly aware of objects and events that surround me; these memories often serve as preliminary studies for my work. The natural landscape is turned into abstract forms and rhythmic patterns, where the viewer sees something in the piece that feels or looks like something they know. I am interested in making art that reads like a story or dance; the compositions are balanced, graphic, and have a reverence for nature. I feel that the processes I utilize in printmaking mimic natural processes like life, decay, re-growth, repetition, and the changing of seasons.
