ARTIST STATEMENT
Much of my current work in fiber is a personal reaction to current events, such as school shootings, women’s health and autonomy, the current Supreme Court, and other topics. I use a soft medium to convey hard truths, combining traditional fiber techniques such as piecing and quilting, with painting, stenciling, fraying, embellishment, fabric dyeing, printing, and use of non-traditional fabrics. My work is my voice, reaching people in places I have yet to visit.
