Meditation Tapestry
oil on gessoed paper
26 x 20 in.
Using decorative motif I create a visual representation of the experience of thought during meditation. The objects represent the ideas that travel through your mind.
The basic structure of each is a pattern of either the abstracted Puebla pottery form or the lotus.
Both the structural and any other object that is patterned inhabits its own distinct plane, and represents the thoughts that strengthen the pattern of meditation.
Other objects weave through the patterns and represent the ideas that may unite the basic patterns of meditation or disrupt it with their clarity.
