I use fiber techniques like netting, looping, threading and weaving to make compositions out of found objects. I design repeating patterns out of humble bits of hardware or household items: mostly metal, plastic, and rubber. Few people contemplate the aesthetics of these functional bits, yet I see beauty in them. I transform them into elegant versions of familiar domestic textiles, like lace, table cloth, doilies, rugs, nets and quilts. The formats of my pieces are familiar, but the choice of materials provides a visual surprise.
