I begin a painting with no preconceived plan, letting the paint and my feelings dictate the outcome. Finding a paint brush too confining, I apply paint directly to the canvas with my hands and paint soaked rags. Pattern is integrated into the work to create a dialogue between it and the abstract gesture.
