Verses – Literary Programs
September 2 @ 2:00 pm – September 20 @ 4:00 pm
Free
Verses is a literary program bringing together six poets to explore the intersections of poetry, law, history, and social justice. Taking inspiration from landmark legal cases and issues, including fugitive slave laws, freedom of religion, Brown v. Board of Education, Roe v. Wade, medically assisted suicide, and Obscenity and Art. The featured poets use their voices to reflect on the rights, struggles, and questions that have shaped our society. The program invites audiences to consider how poetry can engage with history, challenge systems, and open new ways of thinking about justice and freedom.
