Queer Self Portraits Painting Workshop
Reimagine yourself through paint in this bold, creative, and affirming workshop led by artist eve bridges! This acrylic painting workshop introduces participants to diverse and imaginative approaches to self-representation, empowering queer individuals to articulate and manifest their own visions of self. While traditional portraiture reflects what the eye sees, this session invites you to defy convention—creating queer self-portraits imagined as landscapes, symbolic collections, or towering deities.
Led by Chicago-based artist Eve Bridges, whose own work reimagines trans and queer bodies as stylized landscapes, the session draws on work by women and LGBTQ+ artists to inspire reflection on what feels essential to one’s identity—especially in a time when definitions of selfhood are increasingly in flux. No experience necessary. Materials provided. All are welcome!
