Friday Night Paint ‘n Sip Workshop: Ruth Asawa

This mixed media workshop is inspired by the works of Ruth Asawa. There will be opportunities to paint, draw, and work with fiber and wire. Drawing from life and nature, we’ll engage in meditative art practices to create abstract forms. While known best as a sculptor, Asawa’s use of line (in space and on paper) teaches us about the nature of materials themselves.
This class is led by Bekah Baker, Woman Made’s Gallery Assistant. Bekah Baker is a multidisciplinary artist using scientific and artistic strategies alongside her academic art history education to create works grounded in our experience with the material world.
