ARTIST STATEMENT
I am an artist who currently works with fiber. Texture and color are my jam. Some of my work appreciates nature or pure geometry, while other work expresses a point of view about my world and current events, tackling hard topics in a soft medium. Sometimes, the message is subtle, hidden in the quilting. Other times, my message needs to attract attention.
I consider my art to be my voice, traveling to more places than I can, and reaching far more people than I could as an average person. In the current political climate, it is easy to be overwhelmed, angry, and fearful. It would be easier to keep quiet and accept what happens, no matter who is hurt. My voice, through images and statements, will not be silenced. I will persist.
