ARTIST STATEMENT
“Healing Vibes” is inspired by the Virgin of Guadalupe’s power to answer prayers.
“Abuelita” means dear grandmother. And, the painting is in memory of my maternal grandmother who passed away.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Veronica was born in San Antonio, Texas. She is an affiliate professor at the University of Colorado Denver where she has been teaching for over 20 years. She holds a BFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio and an MFA from the University of Colorado Boulder. She has exhibited in numerous exhibitions nationally. Some notable places she has exhibited include the Museo de las Americas, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, CU Museum of Natural History, Museum of Art Fort Collins, Denver Art Museum, Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, and Holter Museum of Art. Veronica is an active board member of the Women’s Caucus for Art Colorado Chapter and member of Los Fantasmas Artist Collective. She has her studio in Lakewood, Colorado.
