ARTIST STATEMENT
I am entranced by the magic of the camera and the photographic process. I make images to reveal this illusion and mediation within the image itself. I am inspired by my experience of travel. I photograph the movements of the land, wind and water, seeking symbolism and metaphoric storytelling. I recreate these forms and compositions in the studio, recapturing the ideas, reprocessing the images and reviving the ideas. I am fascinated by the camera as a tool to reimagine reality. The lens pushes and pulls the space from three to two dimensions. The illusion of form pushes against the flat surface of the photographic paper.
