Star Trauth

Star Trauth b. 1970 lives and works in Miami, Florida. She received her first degree from Antonelli University [1997] (Marketing, Fine Art). Her practice seeks to engage the audience visually with a desire for tactile engagement. She sought to create a new art medium with environmentalism in mind, using waste paper and plastic and converting it to a flat pliable textile. She hand molds and flame sculpts each piece, miniature original works in their own right, then melds them as sculpture, assemblage, or wall hanging.

Selected solo exhibitions include ‘Art Deco Weekend’ Life is Art, Miami, Florida (2015); ‘Sublimate: Totems, Tokens, and Lore’ Vargas Gallery, Pembroke Pines, Florida (2018); ‘Star Trauth: A Solo Show’ Worldwide Art Movement Gallery, Kochi, India (2020). Selected group exhibitions include ‘Touch’ Woman Made Gallery, Chicago, Illinois (2020); ‘Artist Statement 4&5’ Czong Institute for Contemporary Art Museum, Gimpo, Korea (2019, 2020); ‘Florida Biennial’ Art and Culture Center, Hollywood, Florida (2018).

Trauth received selected awards 25th Korean Grand Exhibition, Winner (2019), 19th Arts Exhibition of Incheon, Honorable Mention (2019), 24th Korean Grand Exhibition, Winner (2018), ArtTour International Contemporary Masters, Award of Excellence (2016), Palm Art, Award of Excellence (2016).
