ARTIST STATEMENT
Food has always played an important role in Indian culture. It is an expression of family and love, but it has always been a woman’s domain. This photo series seeks to re-imagine the influences on the food of our mother and grandmother’s. Their work is important but seldom acknowledged.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am an Indian born American artist based in Indianapolis. My art speaks to our different selves and explores our many identities. I enjoy abstract art photography and love to juxtapose the ordinary to make something extraordinary. We are all the result of this collection of experiences, some minor and others not. I seek to explore the intersection of these forces.
