ARTIST STATEMENT
Most of my work is my reaction to some political events, usually related to the many wars the US is consistently involved in and that I find deeply disturbing. It is heart wrenching to follow the news about Gaza and the Middle East in general and this financed with “my” taxes. “Death and Destruction Amid a River of Blood” The constant call for regime change in any country, where we don’t like the leadership, is very depressing for me to watch. The death and destruction that we create in so many regions, mainly in the Middle East, but across the globe is sickening.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a self taught textile artist who started making bed quilts followed by wall quilts. My current work is working with transparent fabrics (silk or polyester organza) using the Korean piecing method of Bojagi. I try to express my feelings, emotions and impressions using color and texture of all the different textiles at my disposal. I am a long time member of the Manhattan Quilters Guild as well as the Brooklyn Quilters Guild
