ARTIST STATEMENT
The concept for this began as a limited edition of Mail Art (Instructions how-to-make and install + a diagram + a Certificate of Authenticity. Feedback convinced me there had to be another way to say IT. How it happens, sometimes…
… compelled to communicate / Sort through my material heap / Listening + Feeling / Sketching / Research ( looking + reading + listening) / Add + Subtract + Add + Subtract / More listening / ??? / Twist + Bend / Fret / Move-on, through the Doubt(s) / PushPull it to the Finished Line. Then when hearing: “”ENOUGH! Stop mess’n with it.”” done.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Chicago (born, raised, living / making art), MFA-Visual Studies: PNCA, BFA-Industrial Design: SAIC. Have been exhibiting in group exhibitions in and about Chicago, and beyond over the past dozen plus years. Forever wrestling with Do I or Don’t I make work calling- out issues of social justice.
