ARTIST STATEMENT
Painting and drawing are inseparable in my work: line and color, abstraction and mystery. I work from imagination and intuition, focused on materiality, and I am most happy when viewers have different experiences with the work, seeing different figures and objects, or different emotional states. My practice includes layering mixed media: acrylic paint, monoprint, collage, encaustic paint, oil stick, and other materials, working primarily on paper, following my ideas and imagination until the materials turn into the painting I imagined.
