ARTIST STATEMENT
Dancing Through Time: Reflections of Myself is a self portrait composite that explores the different symbolic versions of myself. I portray myself as the observer, the one who learns through change, memory, and growth, and the one who applies life’s lessons. This piece reflects transformation, intention, and how as individuals we are forever shifting through time and finding our way.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am an Afro-Latina/Mestiza photographer based in the Chicago suburbs. My focus is primarily digital photography that explores storytelling/narratives, emotion, space/composition, and performance. I am a former dancer, and in turn I have applied bodily awareness into some of my art. In 2023 my photographs were exhibited at The Kente Gallery in Harlem, New York, and in 2025, my art was exhibited at Columbia College Chicago’s art show, For Women by Women. My goal is to create a visual experience that draws viewers in and allows them to think conceptually.
