ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mary King is a practicing artist who works in her Kenwood studio in Chicago every day while listening to news on the radio, liberal and conservative. She believes it is ones duty to be informed and that one can simultaneously experience misery and joy, a stance reflected in her work. King’s work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions at Woman Made Gallery, Hyde Park Art Center, Epiphany Center for the Arts, Center on Halsted, Beverly Art Center, and 65 Grand in Chicago. Her work was also shown in 4 solo exhibitions at Denise Bibro Fine Art in New York. King recently completed an artist residency in Newton, Kansas, where she began completely different new work.
