ARTIST STATEMENT
My art spotlights interesting moments within the mundane, everyday world. I am interested in stark dichotomies like light/dark, precise/loose, and harsh/soft. I explore ways to contrast compare or reconcile the tension between these polarities.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mary Kate Fahrenbach Venturini is a visual artist based in Wheaton, IL. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, she received a bachelor’s degree in The Program of Liberal Studies and Graphic Design. Mary Kate worked for 11 years at Radio Flyer, Inc. in Visual Communication and Marketing. More recently, she has shifted her career to pursue painting, drawing, and parenting. Mary Kate explores a variety of styles and media, with her recent work mostly executed with acrylic on canvas.
