ARTISTS STATEMENT

It is through the representation of fictional instances of supernatural pregnancy that I grieve my inability to bear a biological child. It is through the portrayal of the Virgin Mary that I am able to conceptualize my own imagined miracle pregnancy. My reimagination of biology and fiction shows flexibility in the idea of motherhood- allowing me to connect with and honor its sacred tradition.
