ARTIST STATEMENT
Piecing together unlikely and beautiful images create a story of the existential joy of longing. There can be pain and dread in the longing, but ultimately it is a uniquely human striving that necessitates creation. These collaged pieces reflect that process of stitched creation and the colorful spectrum of emotions that embody our divinity.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marie V. Recalde is a writer, artist, translator and California native living in Germany. Her work has been featured by Las Laguna Art Gallery, The Howler Project and Moonstone Arts Center.
