This photograph, from a series entitled Myths, Mirrors, and Windows, explores the interplay between existing environments, constructed identities, and symbolic objects. The figure standing on the surface of the water who wields a Trident plays upon complex and contradictory associations with religious and mythical iconography. As both the photographer and the performer in this work, I am able to manipulate iconographic meanings in the Symbolic Order and experience these constructed personas through a tangible performative action.
