Loralyn Kumlin is an oil painter who was born in Chicago and grew up in various parts of the United States including Billings, Montana and Austin, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas in 1992. She then returned to Chicago to pursue art and architecture. Her paintings are bold and rich in color. Recently, her paintings have taken on a more political nature. Now living in Evanston, she spends her time painting, teaching children to draw and raising her own children. Recent exhibits “Beauties of the Salton Sea” 2015, “2016” 2016, and “RESIST” 2017 at Tom Robinson Gallery, Chicago. The above piece is from the Never The Less She Persisted series.
