Sound of Silence
The aim of this collection is addressing the issue of the voice of women singers in Iran being forbidden. This prohibition contains several activities such as singing or playing musical instruments by women in public national media like television or even live singing in public events in particular concerts. This is while many women and girls are doing musical activities in my country and each of them has a great story that must be heard. Women artists’ part in singing is just limited to back vocal for men singers. In Iran, many women’s social rights are blatantly ignored, and music is not an exception. My work depicts the pain and sorrow of the women artists who are deprived of their most normal rights.
