Aftermath
digital print on wc paper
24 x 40 in.

My current work consists of digitally layered photo montages that are printed on handmade watercolor paper. While reflecting personal experiences, most often internal, my art also tends to reflect upon public events, too often disturbing.

The consequences of political policies, inescapable as they are, evoke our reaction in one way or another. Directly, or better yet through metaphor, figures and surrounding details often amount to protest which hopefully leads to an emotional response if not to an open dialogue. Much of my personal iconography over the past few years expresses anger, alienation, and shame at the political agenda of the current administration, in particular, the sham of a war in Iraq.
