ARTIST STATEMENT
Through my multidisciplinary approach, Kendra aims to create work that not only challenges viewers to think about food in a different way but also brings joy and whimsy to Black culture. By highlighting Black cultural touch points as pop culture phenomena, she hopes to create a space where Black culture can be appreciated and observed through a Black lens. My commitment to social responsibility is reflected in my work, which encourages critical conversations and challenges societal norms.
As an artist kendra, strives to create inclusive spaces where everyone is welcomed and celebrated. Her innovative approach to art makes an inspiration to other artists and creatives, encouraging them to explore new worlds and enter realities they never thought possible. Through he work, I aim to make a meaningful impact on society, challenging societal norms and encouraging critical conversations about important issues.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kendra Stepp-Davis is a talented Creative Producer, Art Director, and multidisciplinary Artist based in New York City. Her passion for participatory design methods and social responsibility is evident in her works, which include sculptures, paintings, and digital art. Kendra’s creative approach highlights the intersectionality of her black life and emphasizes important social issues through play and preservation. Kendra’s art has been showcased at prestigious events, including Blink Cincinnati 2022, the Girl Knew York Clubhouse in 2022 and 2023, KBM Art Gallery in 2023 and Art Wise 2023.
