ARTIST STATEMENT
Abstract artists are brave. It takes courage to let go of a known image. To step into the unknown. At this time in the US, more than ever, artists must be courageous. And courage requires strength. This is what I strive for in my work. My artwork wants to force the viewer to look, and look again. Not look away. It is confrontational. It forces one’s attention. It does not back down.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
After thirty-five years’ practice as a litigation and corporate attorney, I started my “second act” as an artist a decade ago. I’ve developed a portfolio of a wide variety works, focusing primarily on abstract and other non-representational forms. I want my work to show strength and power. I want to create images that force the viewer to pay attention. My work has been shown in a number of art exhibits in Arizona, as well as in Artists Magazine, and in the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Arts & Sciences.
