ARTIST STATEMENT
In careful collaboration with college friends, I explore the space where we, as people, untangle the facets of our identities to better understand who we are becoming. Through portraits taken in wide landscapes, often during road trips, I document moments of freedom, loneliness, and friendship. These images serve as visual records of a shared process of transformation, situated between past selves and emerging identities. In these in-between spaces, which are full of vulnerability and undefined moments, growth takes place. The discomfort we encounter as we enter new spaces reshapes us. Sometimes, when retreating home, this means comfortable places no longer fit. Through shared journeys, I consider how this space defines us both in self-assertion and the presence of community.
