ARTIST STATEMENT
I paint with oil and watercolor on various surfaces. My work is deeply rooted in emotion and fluctuates between representational and abstract. Delving into themes of identity, growth, and interdependence, I seek to find beauty within chaos and to translate psychological states into physical form.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Julie Waltz-Stalker is a Corning, NY-based painter. She holds a BA of Fine Art in painting and sculpture from Houghton College. Julie worked as an apprentice and assistant to the painter Thomas S. Buechner before beginning her own practice. Julie’s paintings have been shown in galleries across the continental US.
