I am always amazed at what appears when I develop my film and print contact sheets. As a street photographer, I strive to capture street life, not create it. And when I come up with shots like these, I realize that I could not have created scenes like this if I tried.

This work is from a series about the sacred and the profane. Having myself a slightly profane sense of humor, I smile whenever I look at them and think that no matter how serious we try to be, humanity is full of contradictions and we need to just delight in them.
