ARTIST STATEMENT
We know how to fight. Violence and anger permeate our lives, festering and growing inside us, like a powder keg waiting for the slightest spark. The more we see violence all around us, the more steadfast we become, more assured that our side is right, and more sure that safety can only come when our enemies are defeated. We vow to fight till our dying breath. But in this moment, when my rights are so commonly at the center of these fights, I find myself simply exhausted and filled with a primitive longing for respite.
