As an only child growing up in a rural area, I often relied on dolls to function as playmates, serving as actors in the games that many children use to experiment with roles in adult society. Today, I use images of dolls to accomplish very similar goals, as they represent the roles that I have to choose from as an adult female, whether it be caretaker, lover, or venomous she-devil.
