ARTIST STATEMENT
My assemblage work explores collective memory through found objects, vintage photographs, and weathered materials. Each piece functions as a contained world—holding fragments of lives lived, journeys taken, and identities carried across borders and generations. I am drawn to materials that bear the marks of time because they carry history in their surfaces, and in the hands that once held them.
As the child of first generation Americans, I’ve always had an interest in immigration from a historical standpoint. Exploring histories, experiences and artifacts is an integral part of my work. I am drawn even more now that immigrants are under fire.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jenn Wright is a mixed media and assemblage artist based in Robbinsville, New Jersey. She works with found, vintage, and antique objects to create layered narratives about collective memory, history, and the human experience. Her work explores themes of migration, faith, compassion, and resilience — drawing connections between personal and collective histories through reclaimed materials.
Jenn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Rutgers University and has exhibited in juried shows across New Jersey and the surrounding region, including at the West Windsor Arts Council and Sophia Stef Gallery in Lambertville, NJ.
She is drawn to the idea that found objects are never truly discarded — they are waiting to tell a story.
