ARTIST STATEMENT
Themes of pregnancy, anxiety, delight, and matrescence have formed the basis of my current art practice. The playful and inquisitive pieces in this body of work are meant to examine the sweet and weird conditions of personhood. Skeptically celebratory and curious about their own biology, the characters created ask questions that can only be answered on a colorful, intimate gut-level.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jaymes Fedor is a painter and educator working in Rockford, Illinois. She received her BFA in Painting from Northern Illinois University in 2015, and is currently a studio instructor at Womanspace in Rockford.
