5. War Witch – acrylic paint and oil pastel on fabric; 48 x 36 in.

6. Wood Genius – pencil and pastels on paper; 30 x 18 in.

7. Water Genius Lantern – high fired glazed ceramic lantern, from “The Queen’s Crown Jewels,” an installation of 7 ceramic lanterns in Cincinnati/Liuzhou International Friendship Garden in Liuzhou, China; 20 x 12 x 8 in.

8. Maya Bather Fountain – high fired and glazed ceramic sculpture with relief carved and glazed bowl 20 x 14 x 14 in. on platform basin 26 x 26 x 12 in. Sculpture is underlain by glass mosaic on supported by a fiberglass mesh.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jan Brown Checco lives and works in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Her body of work includes paintings, drawings, ceramic and glass mosaics, installation and conceptual design for projects and exhibitions.  Her studio-based processes include illustration, graphic design, use of traditional mediums and techniques as well as imaginative uses for recycled materials, and operation of international artists exchanges.
