ARTIST STATEMENT
A play on the patriotic saying “these colors don’t run”, this piece is meant to represent how America is losing the values and reasons that the country was created for. The red, white, and blue colors melt away and become muddled, now unrecognizable from what they once were. Nothing is left behind as the glaze vanishes, continuing to display how everything that the United States is meant to stand for is becoming eroded. The stars and stripes have faded, ultimately making the symbolism of the flag meaningless.
