ARTIST STATEMENT
My work centers around my experience during puberty and the events that have shaped me. I take a therapeutic approach in order to reclaim the moments of embarrassment and shame I felt as my body and life changed. I often use feminine craft (textiles, scrapbook elements, glitter, etc.) to bring to light the often downplayed art forms.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Elizabeth (Izzy) Sneed was raised in rural Missouri. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Art at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in December 2018. She now resides in McKinney, Texas, and is seeking her Masters in Fine Art at Texas Woman’s University.
