ARTIST STATEMENT
My artworks confront the growing erosion of freedom and free speech in today’s political environment, using stark imagery and symbolic elements to reflect the silencing of dissenting voices. Through restrained figures, muted color palettes, and fragmented forms, I illustrate how individuals are increasingly censored, marginalized, or surveilled for expressing their beliefs. The visual tension in each piece mirrors the societal pressure to conform and the fear of retribution for speaking out. By capturing this atmosphere of suppression, my work aims to provoke critical dialogue and challenge viewers to reflect on the fragile state of democratic expression in the modern world.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
As an artist who has journeyed through the profound experience of a kidney transplant, my art serves as a celebration of life, resilience, and the beauty of human connection. My work, mostly centered on figurative portraiture and as well as other subjects, is a testament to the intricate narratives that define us and the shared experiences that bind us together.
