I work across a range of media: printmaking, painting and installation. My art is highly detailed, narrative and historic/ folkloric. I find ways to connect ancient mythologies and history with social justice and environmental issues in today’s world.
I am currently working on installation pieces and a woodcut series on the theme of refugee crises and population displacement.
My woodcut series about the Golem recalled a medieval tale about a sinister superman made of clay. This unpredictable and monstrous figure evokes the danger of great power, when wielded by a being without a brain or a heart. The Golem archetype expresses my anxiety about demagogues in our world.
